Policy numbers or commission amounts look wrong
Fix spreadsheet column mapping, currency formatting, and normalized values.
On this page
Find the source of the problem
Compare the first ten normalized rows to the original spreadsheet. Check that Policy number column contains the policy reference, and Commission paid column (USD) contains actual commission rather than premium, balance, or percentage.
A carrier may rename its headers between exports, causing a previously saved mapping to no longer match.
Correct it
Choose the correct columns in the mapping panel and select Use these columns. For repeated carrier imports, select the carrier before uploading and update remembered mappings under Carriers → Manage CSV mappings.
Check negative values, parentheses, dollar signs, and decimal separators against the original. If you use Advanced: edit normalized CSV, recheck totals afterward.
Confirm before saving
Download normalized CSV and compare several policies and the total against the source. Do not save a reconciliation with values you cannot verify.
