How matching works
The current engine matches exact policy identifiers and sums amounts per policy, in USD. It does not use fuzzy policy matching, transaction dates, or carrier-specific contract exceptions.
What each label means
Matched: expected and paid amounts agree. Missing payment: a policy is in expected data but not carrier payments. Unexpected payment: a policy is in carrier payments but not expected data.
Underpaid: paid is below expected. Overpaid: paid exceeds expected. Possible chargeback: negative net carrier payment against a nonnegative expectation; this is a flag for review, not proof of a chargeback.
Understand the difference sign
The reconciliation table uses Difference = paid minus expected. Negative means paid is below expected; positive means paid is above expected. The dashboard aggregate instead shows expected minus paid, the opposite sign.
Review before acting
Check identifiers, duplicate rows, carrier statement details, reversals, and commission schedules. An import or mapping error can resemble a payment discrepancy. SplitVerde does not automatically dispute commissions with carriers.
