1. Navigate to schedules
Open Carriers and select Manage commission schedules. Add the carrier first if it does not appear in the Carrier dropdown.
2. Fill in the schedule
Select the carrier. Enter Commission rate (%) as a percentage, such as 8.00 for eight percent. Choose Effective from and optionally Effective to.
Select Save commission schedule. The new row appears under Saved schedules. Overlapping date ranges for the same carrier are not allowed.
3. Update a rate without rewriting history
To replace an old rate, enter its final active date in New end date and select Close on date. Then add a new schedule starting the following day.
Historical rates remain available for earlier policy dates. Check effective dates carefully before running calculations.
4. Understand the calculation
The current expected-commission calculator uses premium multiplied by the applicable carrier percentage. It does not model every carrier-specific contract provision.
Always verify the rate and date against your carrier agreement before treating a calculated amount as authoritative.
